Governor's Brightest Star Awards Ceremony

On November 10, I got to volunteer for the Governor's Brightest Star Ceremony which honors and recognizes volunteerism in the state of Idaho.

The tradition of recognizing Idaho’s outstanding volunteers has carried on through the Risch and Otter administrations. Since its inception, more than 500 individuals and groups have been recognized as Governor’s Brightest Stars.

These everyday heroes come from every corner of the State, representing large and small communities. They truly are Idaho's Brightest Stars!

All of the nominees who meet the minimum qualifications are recognized at the annual Governor’s Brightest Star Awards Ceremony. Citizen review panels traditionally assist the Governor and First Lady in identifying those who will be featured during the Governor’s Brightest Star Awards Ceremony.

The Governor and First Lady present an award for the Governor’s Brightest Star - Volunteer of the Year in each nomination category and feature a variety of other honorees during the ceremony.
